Tommy Evans is one of the most prolific and original composers in the UK. He founded Submotion Orchestra, critically recognized as the worlds first and finest live group to celebrate the cross-roads between jazz and dubstep, and is the musical backbone of one of the UK’s best festival bands, Gentleman’s Dub Club. The Tommy Evans Orchestra is  a 13 piece group and features some of the finest young players in the country  - three vocalists, horns and rhythm section with Evans conducting the group.

The Green Seagull represents Evans’ most cherished project to date and  the focus of three years of composing, conducting and collaboration for which Evans’ won the internationally recognized British Academy of Songwriters and Composers Award (BASCA) for 'Contemporary Jazz Composition' for the written score alone. He also won the 2012 Jazz Yorkshire 'Best Big Band' Award for the recorded version of the suite.

The gig at the Spin will be the album launch for the Green Seagull - should be a memorable evening.
