Orphy Robinson, Pat Thomas, Mark and Raph are 'Ting!'. The group came together after a number of gigs last year in which the idea of reworking, deconstructing and reconstructing jazz standards emerged. Orphy is one of the key figures in the development of Brit Jazz in the 90s, a vibes player extraordinaire and at the forefront of the improvising scene in the UK over the last 20 years. Orphy came to prominence in the mid 80s when he joined the Jazz Warriors, the seminal big band. One of the few British artists to be signed to the American Blue Note label for whom he recorded two albums, he has recently he has been touring with Nigel Kennedy.

On piano, Pat Thomas is regarded as one of the most influential pianists in European jazz and improvisation - stints with the legendary Tony Oxley and recent work with Eugene Chadbourne and ex Mothers of Invention percussionist, Jimmy Carl Black, confirm Pat’s status as a master improviser.
