'one of the most innovative, exciting and original trumpet players alive...' Jazzwise

Byron Wallen comes to the Spin as our special guest; just back from a tour of Australia in the company of the great Jason Yarde on sax and the legendary Jack DeJohnette on drums, the band has been touring down under playing a live soundtrack to the film Jack Johnson, re-working and developing the original played by Miles Davis in 1971.

Byron is one of the most distinctive voices on the British jazz scene; it was in the mid 90s that his playing came to the attention of the wider jazz community and he began to work with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard, Billy Higgins and Hugh Masekela. In the last few years, you will have seen him performing with Jack DeJohnette, Bobby McFerrin and Sam Rivers - world class players all.

A pleasure to have this inspiring musician come to the club. Seats might be hard to come by on the night so book early!!!
