‘Dublin-born singer Christine Tobin is a jewel of the London jazz scene, she should be on a global stage, rubbing shoulders with fellow troubadours like Cave, Mitchell and Cohen…’   The Guardian

We are delighted to feature three great singers in three different settings over November. In this, the first of the three gigs, we welcome Christine Tobin and guitarist Phil Robson who have worked together over two decades, and are both rightly regarded as two of the most accomplished  improvisers in European jazz.

Christine has won numerous awards for her writing and singing - notably the British Composer Award in 2012, and won Best Vocalist in the 2014 Parliamentary Jazz Awards. She has consistently been at the forefront of British jazz and worked with the leading players on the international jazz scene such as Kenny Wheeler,  Django Bates and Tim Garland. Alongside Christine is her long time musical partner, Phil Robson whose work in the UK and the States is equally noteworthy; in the recent past, Phil has been working on the NY scene with the likes of Dave Liebman, Billy Hart and other greats of the American scene. On this side of the water, he has led bands with Julian Siegel (Partisans) and recently recorded 'The Immeasurable Code', an album that features the finest on the London jazz scene.

A wonderful guest duo that should not be missed.
