Malay Tone Poem

'Those of us who have caught him live ... have been left in blinking disbelief.  It's not just his mastery of the tenor saxophone, phenomenal though it is, but the absolute conviction of his playing that is so impressive.'  Dave Gelly, The Observer

One of the pre-eminent jazz musicians in the UK - Tim Whitehead has continued to be a major presence in the UK since his band won Young Jazz Musicians of the Year in the late 1970s.  In a forty year career, he was received many awards - BBC Jazz Album of the Year 1999,and  Artist in Residence at Tate Britain in 2009 - just two of them.
