Malay Tone Poem

Luca Stoll, one of Switzerland's leading tenor players and a fixture on the New York jazz scene for a decade, brings a great quartet to the club.  The band features one of the hardest swinging drummers in the UK and regular jazz award winner, Steve Brown as well as New York guitar player, Ofer Landsberg.

Luca himself studied, gigged and recorded in New York for many years before coming to settle in the UK. He studied with the great Branford Marsalis and has played with many of the greats in NY - drummers such as Kenny Washington and Alvin Queen, and pianists such as Richie Beirach and Joey Calderazzo. Luca brings an incredible understanding of the traditions in jazz to his playing and the influences of Coleman Hawkins, Parker and Lester Young all play a role, amongst many,  in his unique approach to improvisation.
