We are delighted to be putting on one of the great saxophonists in contemporary jazz - Paul McCandless with a stellar group from San Francisco, Charged Particles.

Paul McCandless is a jazz superstar - he was won three Grammys, has played on over 200 albums with artists such as Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Wynton Marsalis, Lyle Mays, Steve Reich, Al Jarreau, Carla Bley, and Bela Fleck, to name a few. However,  Paul is best known for his playing with Oregon, one of the most influential groups of the last 30 years. His is an astonishing career in music and it is a real coup for us to bring Paul and Charged Particles to Oxford.

Charged Particles are an equally stellar group of players; a trio based in the Bay Area of San Francisco. Celebrating their 25th anniversary, Charged Particles features three virtuosos playing jazz while crossing stylistic boundaries and blending diverse traditions to create engaging new sounds. Murray Low is a keyboard wizard with dazzling Latin-jazz technique and imaginative improvisational skills.  Aaron Germain is an inventive and sophisticated acoustic and electric bassist.  Along with fiery drummer Jon Krosnick, these players are making some of the most electrifying jazz in the country today.

Tickets are available from The Spin website as usual but also from The Old Fire Station.  All tickets are £18 - there are also a small number of standing tickets at £10 available only from the Old Fire Station.
