Malay Tone Poem

“pirouetting through Gillespie’s breaks quicker than a hummingbird’s wings”

The above quote from The Times (Alyn Shipton) sums up the fluidity of Mark's playing and we are delighted to have a return visit from this exceptional trumpeter who cut his teeth with the likes of Stan Tracey and Mike Garrick.

Since his last performance at The Spin, Mark has been incredibly busy, not only as an international performer, but also as the director - and arranger - of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. (NYJO). Mark's tenure as NYJO's director has seen the band's resurgence with recordings and high-profile gigs, including a Prom at the Albert Hall.

Mark's playing is of the very highest calibre, so please book yourselves seats for a deeply enriching musical night!
